The celebrated Québécois circus troupe invites Fairfield audiences into an exuberant, interactive celebration of love, family, and community.
Cirque Alfonse, the acclaimed Québec-based circus company known for its inventive blend of acrobatics, live music, dance, theater, and Québécois cultural traditions, returns to the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts on Sunday, September 27, with La Noce d’Alfonse—a raucous and joyous theatrical celebration that transforms the circus into a wedding party and invites the audience to join the festivities.
Following the company’s memorable 2023 Quick Center engagement with Animal, Cirque Alfonse returns with a production that is at once spectacular and intimate, drawing on the troupe’s distinctly familial approach to performance. In La Noce d’Alfonse, the stage becomes a celebration in motion, filled with aerial acrobatics, teeterboard, bungee, juggling, tightwire, dance, and live music. At the heart of the experience is a surprise couple from the audience, whose participation becomes part of the evening’s unfolding celebration.
Founded in Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez, Québec, in 2005 by father-and-son duo Alain and Antoine Carabinier-Lépine, Cirque Alfonse grew from a family collaboration into an internationally recognized circus company. The troupe continues to bring that sense of family into its work, with Julie Carabinier-Lépine, Antoine’s sister and co-artistic director; Jonathan Casaubon, Julie’s partner and a specialist in teeterboard and acrobatics; and Geneviève Morin, an aerialist and Antoine’s life partner, among its core artistic collaborators.
