For Deana ’93 and Chris McCabe ’92, P’29, supporting Fairfield and the Parents Fund is personal. Fairfield has been a part of their story for more than 30 years—first as students, and now as parents of Edward “Teddy” McCabe ’29.
The McCabes know firsthand what a Fairfield experience can mean, and today they give to the Parents Fund to help make sure Teddy and his classmates have an experience just as meaningful.
From Oct. 26 to 28, every gift will count as Fairfield parents and families come together for the 9th annual Parents & Family Challenge. When 500 parents and families make a gift of any amount, an additional $150,000 will be unlocked for the Parents Fund, sponsored by the Parents Leadership Council. Gifts to the Parents Fund go to work immediately to strengthen academics, expand career opportunities, enrich student and spiritual life, and open doors to a Fairfield education through scholarships and financial aid.
As students, what the McCabes loved most about Fairfield was the community, and those connections have lasted. “Our Fairfield friends are still showing up for each other 30 years later, which is a huge testament to the school,” Deana said.
Watching Teddy find his place has shown Chris and Deana that the sense of belonging they loved as students is still at the heart of Fairfield. They give to the Parents Fund to support the programs and opportunities that help students thrive as they write their own Fairfield stories.
For the McCabes, a Fairfield education is about more than earning a degree—it’s about shaping the whole person. They believe in Fairfield’s values and mission, and becoming Fairfield parents gave them a new reason to get involved. Now, as members of the Parents Leadership Council, they’re supporting this year’s Challenge and encouraging fellow families to step up for Fairfield students today.
