The senior was the NEC Defensive Player of the Year for Fairfield Field Hockey.
On the heels of a landmark 2025 season for Fairfield University's field hockey team, Pilar Mengotti ’26 earned a berth to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America Third Team. Mengotti is the first Stag to earn a spot on the NFHCA All-America team since her former teammate Lucie Vincent received Third Team laurels following the 2023 campaign.
Mengotti enjoyed one of her best overall seasons with the Stags in 2025, ranking among the Fairfield leaders in both offensive and defensive categories. She finished second on the team in scoring with 26 points, registering 10 goals and six assists—including a goal in the NCAA Championship Second Round against second-seeded and nationally ranked #3 Princeton University.
The All-America accolade adds to Mengotti's impressive 2025 résumé, which also includes a spot on the NFHCA All-Mideast Region Team. She collected the NEC Defensive Player of the Year and All-NEC First Team honors for her contributions during the Stags’ unbeaten run through the Northeast Conference.
Under the direction of first-year head coach Laura Gebhart, Fairfield Field Hockey finished the 2025 season with a 16-6 overall record and a 9-0 mark in NEC play. The Stags captured the conference's regular-season and tournament titles to advance to the NCAA Championship for the seventh time in program history. Fairfield went on to earn its second win on the national stage with a 1-0 win over Boston University before falling to eventual national finalist Princeton to conclude the campaign.
