Dr. Lisa Sundean is an assistant professor and director of the Master of Healthcare Administration program at the Egan School. Her research and scholarship focus on nursing leadership, specifically in board leadership roles, health policy, and nursing workforce development.

Dr. Karen Burrows is an Assistant Professor of the Practice at the EGAN School of Nursing and Health Studies, teaches Undergraduate and Graduates students, and serves as the Veterans Administration Nursing Academic Partnership Program Director.

From your initial admissions conversation to graduation—every step of the journey to your MHA degree at Fairfield will be filled with support. We offer a breadth of admissions and academic support services for both online and hybrid students, and our faculty take pride in developing one-on-one relationships with students. Admission requirements

The MHA degree program at Fairfield University is open to students with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline, provided you have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and a strong personal statement. No GMAT or GRE required.

Application Priority Deadline: Application and all supplemental materials must be received no later than three weeks prior to the start of each term.

Please note that Fairfield University cannot supply I-20 documentation for international students enrolling in online or low-residency programs, like the MS in Healthcare Administration.

A completed online application.

A non-refundable $65 application fee paid by credit card. Application fee is waived for current Fairfield students and for those who attend an information session.

A professional resume. Applicants are required to submit a current resume that includes employment and education history (submit online).

From your experience or current knowledge, discuss a systems level healthcare issue that has broad impact on organizations, consumers, and/or society. State your professional goals over the next 5-7 years and how the MHA degree will help you achieve your goals and address the issue you discussed.

Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended demonstrating a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by an approved evaluating service.

Two recommendation forms and letters, one of which, preferably, from a current employer or supervisor. Recommendations are completed online. At the time of application candidates must provide the email addresses and names of their two recommenders.
