On Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 5 p.m., the Fairfield University St. Robert Bellarmine Pre-Law Society will welcome guest speaker Nir Zicherman, founder and CTO of Anchor, the world’s largest podcasting platform. Zicherman is the former VP and global head for audiobooks at Spotify. The hourlong talk, “A Startup Founder’s Journey,” will be held at the Dolan School of Business Event Hall and will cover how college, law school, and a desire to learn outside the classroom prepared him to reach the highest ranks of tech entrepreneurs.

“He is brilliant, driven, and above all kind,” said Aaron Weinstein, PhD, director of Fairfield’s pre-law advising and assistant professor of politics. “He is intensely interested in guiding the next generation of tech entrepreneurs, and I believe that everyone (students and members of the community) can learn a lot from him.”

Zicherman, a prominent figure in the startup ecosystem, will take the audience on a journey through his entrepreneurial endeavors, shedding light on the various stages of launching and growing a startup. The presentation will encompass everything from ideation and product development to securing funding and navigating the complexities of the business world.

A writer, entrepreneur, investor, and business advisor, Zicherman has more than a decade of experience creating, building, and scaling successful products and platforms. He was the vice president of audiobooks at Spotify through October 2023, where he oversaw the strategy, development, and expansion of audiobooks on the platform, including the addition of audiobooks to the Spotify Premium offering.

Prior to joining Spotify, Zicherman co-founded and served as the chief technology officer of Anchor, the world's largest podcasting platform, which was acquired by Spotify in 2019. Zicherman is passionate about math, writing, and tech, and holds a BA from Cornell University and a JD from NYU Law.

Free and open to the public, the event is hosted by the St. Robert Bellarmine Pre-Law Society, which works to promote alumni mentoring, particularly among recent alumni currently attending law school, to help students get acquainted with law school programs and demands. The Society is open to all undergraduate students interested in a law career.
