Big screen broadcasts give audiences best seat in the house to critically acclaimed, sold-out performances

With National Theatre Live HD broadcasts on the Quick Center's big screen this season, audiences will be offered the best seat in the house to shows that Londoners can't even get a ticket to. Each broadcast is taped in front of a live theatre audience, with cameras carefully positioned throughout the auditorium, giving HD audiences a better-than-front-row seat experience to each show. Beginning with the critically-acclaimed, sold-out production of "A Streetcar Named Desire" starring Gillian Anderson from " The X-Files " and including a return by popular demand of "Frankenstein" starring Benedict Cumberbatch (PBS's "Sherlock") and Jonny Lee Miller (CBS's "Elementary") in alternating roles as Victor Frankenstein and his creation, National Theatre Live perfectly captures in HD the riveting, original and thoroughly entertaining live productions of a Britain institution, the National Theatre. And for the first time in its history, the National Theatre Live series will include a play performed and filmed on Broadway, the critically-acclaimed " Of Mice and Men," starring James Franco and Chris O'Dowd. "A Streetcar Named Desire"

"Medea"

"Frankenstein"

The production was a sell-out hit at the National Theatre in 2011, and the broadcast has since become an international sensation, experienced by almost half a million people in cinemas around the world. Frankenstein features Benedict Cumberbatch ( 12 Years A Slave, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Sherlock ) and Jonny Lee Miller ( Elementary, Trainspotting, Mansfield Park ) alternating roles as Victor Frankenstein and his creation. Given graphic elements in the production, it is strongly advised that the presentation is not appropriate for ages 15 and under.
