Irene Peluso '16 and Maddie Davis '17 competed recently at the IHSA Zone 2 Championships, at the Fairfield County Hunt Club, in Westport, Conn. - an event that FUET helped to host. Peluso will compete in Individual Open Equitation Over Fences. Davis will compete in Individual Intermediate Equitation On the Flat.

The top two riders in each individual class and the top two hunter seat teams in team competitions advance. The Zone 2 Finals incorporated 53 teams from five regions across Connecticut, New York, and Canada. FUET coach Naomi Gauruder and Richard Luckhardt, Zone 5 Regional President, were the acting show managers.

Founded in 1992, FUET has been an integral part of Fairfield University's Department of Recreation. Currently, the club is about 25 members strong. Throughout the academic year, lessons are held at two sites, Sea Horse Stables, LLC and The Ridge Equestrian Center, both located in Newtown, Conn.
