Fairfield University will host "Conversations Around Revisions to DSM-V," an informative panel discussion about recent changes to the American Psychiatric Association's standard manual of mental disorders, at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12 at Alumni House on campus. The talk, which is free and open to the public, will feature experts in the fields of nursing, applied psychology and marriage and family therapy.

It is sponsored by the University's Marriage and Family Therapy Department (MFT), the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions, the School of Nursing and the MFT Advisory Board.

Scheduled speakers for the evening are: Joyce Shea, DNSc, APRN, PMHCNS-BC and associate professor and Elizabeth DeCamp McInerney Professor of Health Sciences; Kathleen Wheeler, Ph.D., APRN, PMHCNS-BC, PMHNP-BC, FAAN and professor of nursing; and Dr. Ronald J. Brone, Ph.D., clinical psychologist and adjunct professor for the School Psychology Department. They will consider the ramifications of changes to "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders," or the DSM-V.

The event begins with light refreshments at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation starts at 7 p.m. The speakers will participate in a Q&A with the audience at 8:30 p.m.
