Image: Fairfield University entrance Fairfield University invites the public to audit undergraduate courses, attend monthly symposia, and more through Learning for a Lifetime, which will hold an open house for new and returning members on Tuesday, August 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Aloysius P. Kelley, S.J. Center on campus.

Learning for a Lifetime is a group of intellectually curious individuals who enjoy being part of the University community. Membership entitles participants to audit one or two undergraduate courses a semester and attend monthly symposia, thought-provoking lectures presented by Fairfield faculty. In addition, Fairfield professors often lead trips of historical and cultural interest and a week of engaging classes is offered each June.

The following courses are among the many available for auditing, as space permits, during the 2012-13 academic year: "Modernism in World Literature: Cities of Modernism," "Harlem Renaissance," "Visual Culture Since 1400," and "James Joyce."

With enrollment, members also receive a Fairfield University ID card, free parking, select discounts at Quick Center events, use of the Leslie C. Quick Jr. Recreational Complex (for an additional discounted fee), and access to the DiMenna-Nyselius Library and many other lectures taking place on campus or the downtown Fairfield University bookstore each semester.
