Summer Festival Chorus schedules auditions at Quick Center

The seventh annual Summer Festival Chorus, conducted by Carole Ann Maxwell, has scheduled auditions on Thursday, June 15, at 7 p.m., in Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.

Arranged for the experienced choral singer, the 2000 Summer Festival Chorus will bring together singers with a wide range of experience in, and passion for, the arts. This year's program, "Exploring the 20th Century," will showcase selections from Broadway to the classics - featuring the works of such composers as Durufle, Beach, Pinkham, Richard Rodgers and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

At the audition, participants should come prepared to sing vocal warm-ups and exercises. Previous participants need not audition. Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 10 p.m., from June 29 to Aug. 10, in the Quick Center's air-conditioned, acoustically perfect, Kelley Theatre.

The bravura grand finale concert is slated for Saturday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Quick Center. For more information call (203) 254-4010 or toll-free at 1-877-ARTS-396.
