"Festival 2000" is Theatre Fairfield's season finale

Theatre Fairfield, the resident production company of Fairfield University, presents its season finale, "Festival 2000," three one-act plays written, designed and directed by students, from Wednesday, April 26, through Saturday, April 29, in the PepsiCo Theatre, at the university's Round Hill Road entrance.

"Spotlight Zone," written by sophomore, Lara M. Eckler, analyzes the hilarious love affair between a down-to-earth man and a manipulative princess known for fighting for what she wants. Directed by senior, Melanie LoBue, it stars Megan Bell, Tim Cummings and Jamie McCourt.

"Who Shares Your Name," written by senior, Fred Gooltz, captures the unique family tie between a college student and his sick grandfather. The play details the young man's growth as he comes to understand the importance of family and the belief in one's self. Directed by senior Davis Wildman, the production starts Ed Walsh and Christian Long.

"Tough Choices for the New Century," takes place at a seminar, the topic of which is: How to Protect Yourself from the Evils of the World in the New Century. Directed by senior Brian Hoover, the cast includes Liz Capinera, John Chenier and Angela Lewonczyk.

The university's theater program gives students an opportunity to showcase their talents backstage as well: the artistic staff includes Shelley Barish as scenic designer; Laura-Marie Seeberg as costume designer; and Steve O'Connell as lighting designer.
