Nobel Peace Prize-winner, Betty Williams, will discuss "The Peace Process: How the Arts Relay that Message," on Tuesday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. The lecture is part of the multi-event Irish Arts & Letters Festival taking place at the university through April 6.

Williams, a children's advocate and founder of the World Centers of Compassion, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1976 for her courageous work against violence in her native Northern Ireland. Her vision is to save the world's children by creating safe havens where they will be fed, sheltered, nurtured and encouraged to achieve their fullest potential. For more than 20 years she has traversed the globe working with fellow laureates in trouble spots where the cause of peace, especially the safety and well-being of children, is at risk.
