"The Politics of Papal Elections" at Fairfield University

"The Politics of Papal Elections" is the subject of the Sixth Annual Christopher F. Mooney, S.J., Lecture in Theology, Religion and Society to be held at Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 8 p.m. Thomas J. Reese, S.J., Ph.D., editor-in-chief of "America" magazine is the speaker.

Father Reese is the author of several studies on the politics, organization, and governance of the Catholic Church, including "Inside the Vatican," published by Harvard University Press in 1997. "Inside the Vatican" has been translated into Dutch, German, Polish and Portuguese.

Prior to his appointment as editor-in-chief, Father Reese was a senior fellow at the Woodstock Theological Center at Georgetown University where he organized a major research project on episcopal conferences.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
