Fairfield University MBA open house in Stamford

The Fairfield University School of Business will offer courses for its MBA in Stamford, beginning in January. Dr. Walter Ryba, dean of the School, said he is delighted that space has been made available by General Re in the Financial Centre building. "It's an exciting location because it is in the heart of the business community and within walking distance of all the corporate buildings along I95 in Stamford." Convenient parking is also available for commuters.

Dr. Ryba said Fairfield University has had a long tradition of support and interest from the Stamford business community and he is pleased Fairfield will be able to make its program more accessible to students from lower Fairfield County and Westchester. Fairfield is one of only three schools of business in the state with AACSB accreditation, something that some companies require before granting tuition remission to their employees.

Two open houses for the program will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Community Room at General Re.

Faculty for the Stamford classes will be drawn from Fairfield's regular full-time faculty. At the beginning, classes will be offered two nights a week. Fairfield's MBA offers concentrations in accounting, finance, human resource management, information technology, international business, marketing and taxation. Questions may be directed to Cynthia Chegwidden, (203) 254-4070.
