Christopher C. Quick chairs Fairfield Awards Dinner

Christopher C. Quick of Purchase, N.Y., president of Fleet Specialists, the largest specialist operation on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, is chairing Fairfield University's "Fairfield Awards Dinner" on Monday, April 5, at the Sheraton New York, where entertainer and humanitarian Bill Cosby will be the featured speaker.

The annual dinner is hosted by Fairfield's Alumni Association to benefit the University's Multicultural Scholarship Fund and during the 10 years the dinner has been held, it has raised over $1.6 million.

A graduate of Fairfield University, Mr. Quick joined Fleet Specialists in 1982 and was named president four years later. Last year the firm became part of Fleet Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: FLT), one of the nation's largest and most successful financial services firms and holding company for one of the nation's largest banks. Previously, he was with Henderson Brothers, Inc., a NYSE specialist firm.

Fleet Specialists makes markets in 418 issues, representing 323 companies and 13 percent of total Big Board volume. This roster of securities includes 67 among the Standard & Poor's 500 and 4 of the 30 Dow Jones industrial Average stocks. Fleet Specialists affiliates include Quick & Reilly, Inc., a leading national discount brokerage company with 118 offices nationwide.

Mr. Quick is a member of the New York Stock Exchange, the Boston Stock Exchange, the NYSE Arbitration Board, and the ITS Executive Committee. He is a former member of the Trustees Advisory Council at Fairfield University and serves on the St. Vincent's Hospital Board and the Executive Committee of the Cardinal's Committee of the Laity of the Archdiocese of New York. He is also director of the Specialist Association and a member of the Board of Directors of Quick & Reilly/Fleet Securities, Inc. and a former Floor Official, 1990-1996.

Mr. Quick and his wife Ann have four children.
