Nursing degree options for Continuing Education students | Press Releases

Adult students are learning that it is never too late to pursue a degree in nursing at Fairfield University, where the School of Continuing Education, in conjunction with the School of Nursing, offers several options for adult students.

Registered Nurses may enroll in a program that leads to a bachelor of science degree in nursing, while continuing to work. Nurses in Connecticut who have completed their licensure requirements within the past six years will receive transfer credit at Fairfield University under the Connecticut Articulation Model.

Adults who have already completed a bachelor's degree and are seeking a career change into nursing may wish to apply to the Second Degree Nursing Program. This program is an intensive format allowing students who have completed their prerequisites to obtain their bachelor of science degree in nursing within 18 months.

Adult students wishing to complete their first degree in nursing may investigate the part-time program that allows them to proceed at their own pace.

In addition to the undergraduate degrees, the School of Continuing Education offers options for students who need preparatory courses for the Master of Science in Nursing.
