Area residents honored for commitment to study in Judaic Studies Program

The Program in Judaic Studies at Fairfield University honored nine area residents for their continual commitment to the "Lunch and Learn Series," which meets every year for 10 weeks of study. This year's topic of study was "Jewish Messianism." Honored for five years are, standing, Edna Hoffman, Jackie Eskin, and Yvonne Waynik of Fairfield, Edith Mooney of Bridgeport, Marilyn Bissell of Easton, and Suzanne Steinberg of Wilton; and seated, Sarah Shumofsky of Bridgeport; Dr. Ellen Umansky, director of the program; and six-year honorees, Edythe Rosenfield of Trumbull and Ruth Levin of Bridgeport.
