Men’s Basketball to Host Final Games at Alumni Hall This Weekend

The Stags have called Alumni Hall their home for more than 60 years.

The Stags will challenge a pair of MAAC foes on their venerable home court: Quinnipiac on Friday, and Rider on Sunday.

After more than 60 seasons of action, the Fairfield men’s basketball team will play its final games on George Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall this weekend, in a pair of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contests. The Stags will host in-state rival Quinnipiac on Friday and cap the 2019-20 home slate on Sunday with a visit from Rider.

Tickets for both games are on sale now at FairfieldStags.com/TIX. Admission is free for Fairfield students, faculty, and staff with a StagCard.

In their first season led by Head Coach Jay Young, the Stags have surpassed their overall and conference win totals from last winter, highlighted by a 4-2 record at Alumni Hall. Two of the last three games on campus have been contested in front of sold-out crowds of 2,479 fans.

After this weekend’s action, Fairfield women’s basketball will play its final home games on March 5 and March 7. The March 7 game will be followed by the "Last Call at Alumni Hall" farewell reception from 7 to 10 p.m. The "Last Call" event will provide guests an opportunity to spend time in the building and share stories about their own experiences in Alumni Hall, before construction begins for the planned new Arena & Convocation Center.
