Murphy Center to Offer Virtual Triduum Celebration for Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola

The Murphy Center for Ignatian Spirituality of Fairfield University, in collaboration with Campus Ministry, will honor the feast day of Saint Ignatius with a triduum celebration.

On July 31, the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast Day of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Sometimes referred to as a “soldier for Christ,” Saint Ignatius worked to strengthen the kingdom of God on Earth by trying to be like Christ in everything he did. His legacy and the order he started, the Society of Jesus, today extends far beyond monastery walls to Jesuit universities and missions around the world.

Fairfield University's Murphy Center for Ignatian Spirituality, in collaboration with Campus Ministry, will honor Saint Ignatius with a triduum celebration leading up to his feast day. A virtual retreat will focus on the life and graces of St. Ignatius, and will be followed by a companion prayer reflection.

The retreat series will take place over three days and offer reflections on the journey of St. Ignatius, divided into three stages: his experiences at Monserrat, at Manresa, and at La Storta. Each an hour in duration, these reflections will bring retreatants through each phase of St. Ignatius' spiritual enlightenment and celebrate the fruits of his work in the world.
