Close to 300 runners, walkers, and bikers showed their Fairfield spirit during last month's “Stags Run for Stags” virtual race — and raised more than $3,000 to support current and future Fairfield students.

Hosted and coordinated by Fairfield University’s Student Alumni Association (SAA), the inaugural “Stags Run for Stags” was a great success thanks to the 296 virtual race participants — runners, walkers, and bikers — from 16 states (plus Washington, D.C.) and three countries: U.S., U.K., and the Netherlands. During race weekend, Friday, November 20 to Sunday, November 22, these alumni, parents, and friends of Fairfield came together to raise more than $3,000 in support of current and future Stags’ Fairfield experiences. Due to popular demand, the SAA is already making plans for next year’s event. Save the date for November 19-21, 2021.

During race weekend, participants had the opportunity to participate in several social media photo contests to win prizes. Congratulations to all of the winners in the following categories:

  • Most Fairfield Pride - Kayla Frain ’20, Bill Frain P’20, and Jenny Frain P’20
  • Cutest Future Stag - the child of Michael Tafuto ’14
  • “Stags Who Run Together Stay Together” (for StagMates) - Lindsey Hanley Finelli ’15 and Chris Finelli ’15, MS’16
  • “Stags Are Stronger In Herds” (largest social-distanced group) - Alison Hildenbrand ‘05 & friends
