Learn the five skills resilient people need to develop in order to succeed, at the next Unlock Your Potential Workshop Series with Paul Maloney, PhD.

Paul Maloney, PhD, assistant professor of the practice in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Fairfield's Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions (GSEAP) will present the next Unlock Your Potential Workshop Series, “Developing Resilience and Dealing with Change,” on Saturday, February 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Canisius Hall. Attendees will learn techniques for managing stress in the workplace, explore how to accept and adapt to change, and develop strategies to become more resilient.

During the workshop Dr. Maloney will teach five specific skills that resilient people use to succeed in business and in life: maintaining perspective through adverse circumstances, remaining optimistic, feeling in control, understanding your environment, and using humor.

Dr. Maloney has consulted on organizational and human resource issues worldwide. His career includes senior level positions in management and organization development at NBC, Mobil, and PepsiCo. Dr. Maloney's specialties include change management, communications, consulting skills, executive feedback and coaching, leadership development, presentation skills, and team building and development.

“As the velocity of change becomes even more rapid, employees will need to become more resilient,” said Dr. Maloney. “These are skills that can be taught to employees and practiced by employees. Organizations need to ensure that their members are taught the skills of resilience as these skills will facilitate the continued development and productivity of the organization.”
