Shadow a Stag

Student Program

The Shadow a Stag Program is designed to give you, the student, an opportunity to experience academic and student life at Fairfield University. While on campus, you will be paired with a current student who will take you to class, introduce you to members of the Fairfield community, show you his or her favorite on-campus locations, answer your questions and eat lunch with you in the Tully Dining Room. By the end of the day, we hope that you will have a better understanding of what it means to be a student at Fairfield.

Spring 2019

Thursday, February 21 through Tuesday, April 30 *

General requirements are as follows:

Please bear in mind that not all classes will be available to observe due to quizzes, tests, presentations, number of seats available, and other limits that are set by the faculty. For this reason, we kindly ask for at least 2 weeks advance notice for all requests in order to communicate with our student hosts and faculty.

* Those interested in the opportunity to observe a class in the School of Nursing must select a visit on a Monday or Thursday. We do not offer visits on Wednesdays. No class visits on Monday, February 25; Thursday, March 14 - Tuesday, March 26; Monday, April 8; Thursday, April 18 - Monday, April 22.

You have the option of choosing whether to shadow a current student in the morning or afternoon. The morning session runs from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The afternoon session runs from 12:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. We will do our best to pair you with a student based on your academic interest.

A confirmation will be sent prior to your scheduled visit. We understand that weather or other last minute emergencies may require you to cancel your Shadow a Stag visit. If this is the case, please notify us by e-mail as soon as possible. When rescheduling your visit, please resubmit the Shadow a Stag Program Request Form on our website. We will do our best, but cannot guarantee visits that are rescheduled on short notice.
