Where I live on campus: Fairfield Beach Road

Make sure to stop by: The Barone Campus Center—there is just so much to do and see! I would also stop by the beach!

Why I chose Fairfield: I love that at Fairfield offers you the best of both worlds! You have the beautiful campus and a few major cities nearby. I also chose Fairfield for the academics and the smaller average class sizes.

Favorite Fairfield memory: Midnight Breakfast! Students dress up in their ugly holiday sweaters, and faculty serve the students food before finals begin.

Favorite place off campus: Downtown Fairfield, but more specifically Firehouse Deli.

Every student should try: Riding the Stag statue before the end of their four years.

Advice I would give my first-year self: Don’t be afraid to try something new!

Favorite class: Social Media Marketing

Why I wanted to become a summer tour ambassador:
I really love giving tours and introducing Fairfield University to prospective students. What else is better than showing Fairfield’s beautiful campus and explaining all the great opportunities students can have during their four years here?

Nick Rucco ‘20
Staten Island, New York

High School: Regis High School
Major: Mathematics and Digital Journalism

Where I live on campus: Meditz Hall

Make sure to stop by: Campus Ministry - There’s always free food, great people, and the staff is so incredibly welcoming!

Why I chose Fairfield: I chose Fairfield because of its Jesuit identity and how the school promotes student engagement in the plethora of extracurricular opportunities offered on campus.

Favorite Fairfield memory: I had the amazing opportunity to be a New Student Leader and teach a class to first-year students. It was an experience I will never forget and one which helped me learn a lot about myself and the campus community as a whole.

Favorite place off campus: I absolutely love Flipside Burgers on the Post Road (U.S. Route 1). They have the best food, and Fairfield students go there to eat all the time.

Every student should try: Fairfield at Night activities that are held every weekend. They have recently released movies in Gonzaga Auditorium every Friday night and events like Bingo, bubble soccer, or Stuff-A-Stag held every Saturday night.

Advice I would give my first-year self: Never stop making friends. The friends you make during your first week on campus may not be your friends for the next four years, and that’s ok!

Favorite class: I had an overwhelmingly positive experience in my Minds and Bodies Honors seminar with Dr. LoMonaco and Prof. Hoover. It helped me challenge everything I thought I knew about learning in an academic setting through workshops involving meditation, interpretive dance, and the creation of music.

Why I wanted to become a summer tour ambassador: I wanted the opportunity to showcase all the things that makes Fairfield my home away from home to help prospective students decide if this is the right place for them.
