Students! Did you know that while studying abroad you can engage in an international internship? Yes, students can make a business internship part of their academic curriculum while abroad for a semester, a full year or even a summer! Interns will gain international work experience with a high-end internship in cities like, Aix-en-Provence, Barcelona, Florence, Galway, London and Sydney!

Internships provide students with the opportunity to gain experience in workplace settings and to translate classroom learning into practice. Interns are not required to be fluent in a foreign language as many of the host companies utilize the interns for their English speaking and writing skills.  Many interns enjoy learning the local language and take advantage of language classes to advance their language skills.

The internship is a substantive career development experience. These unpaid opportunities provide students with the experience to be exposed to business ideas and concepts while being mentored. Doing analysis, contributing to decisions, and communicating meaningful ideas should form the bulk of the work, although some low skill work (for example, data entry and making phone calls) can be a part of the assignment. At the end of the internship experience, students will be able to reflect on their personal and professional growth and begin seeing themselves on their career path.

Policies & Procedures

Study abroad is intended to build upon and enhance students’ educational experiences. For this reason, program choices will be carefully reviewed with each student to ensure a good fit between academics and destination.
