The Office of Residence Life has selected student leadership positions and volunteer/elected positions available that will help students develop their own leadership capacity and gain valuable skills for life!

The Resident Assistant/Commuter Peer Assistant (RA/CPAs) position is one of the premier leadership positions for students at Fairfield.  RAs are responsible for the social, academic, and personal development all undergraduate students. The RA/CPAs develop a sense of community among students as members of a floor/area, cultivate relationships with the students while implementing our Catholic and Jesuit mission.

Each year the Office of Residence Life seeks candidates from the rising senior, junior, and sophomore classes who have developed good self-awareness and have genuine care and concern for others to serve as Resident Assistants/Commuter Peer Assistants.

Inter-Residential Housing Association (IRHA)

The Office of Residence Life also advises the Inter-Residential Housing Association which a student government body representing all residential students living on-campus.  Each Residence Hall Community hosts weekly open meetings of their Residence Hall Association (RHA) and bi-weekly, all RHAs meet together as a General Assembly of IRHA.  IRHA is open to any residential student.  To find out more information please check out IRHA’s Org Sync home page. Students who participate in RHA or IRHA have the opportunity to make a positive impact on their community and to develop their own leadership capacity.

National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)

The Office of Residence Life advises the National Residence Hall Honorary. NRHH’s goal is to recognize the contributions of our scholars and leaders living in the residence halls. Established in 1964, NRHH honors the top 1% of student leaders who make a difference in the lives of students living on campus. The chapter of NRHH here at Fairfield University is one of over 120 NRHH chapters nationwide.  NRHH also sponsors an Of the Month Recognition program.  To nominate a fellow student, advisor for an Of the Month Award please see our Org Sync homepage.  NRHH has inductions yearly in the Spring semester.  Applications are out March 1st and due at the end of the month.
