Below you will find the list of action items related to graduation in May 2018!

You will see the item's start and end date, location, cost, description and level of requirement. While many are mandatory for all May graduates other items are only recommended for your success!

In my.Fairfield:

1. Select the "Apply to Graduate" featured task.

2. Click through the easy to navigate forms.

Note: If you are a dual curriculum student (have majors in both BA and BS programs) you must select your primary major (which is the first major listed). If you do not wish for that to be your primary program, please do not complete your application. You must contact your Dean's Office and request the change. Once the change has been processed, you can proceed with your application.

3. If you receive a message that you cannot proceed with your application please follow these instructions. 

4. Once you have successfully submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation page with further instructions. You will also receive an email, which will include any additional steps required to complete the process.

5. Next, you may need to pay your $160 graduation fee. Failure to pay the fee will result in your application being rejected.

Full Time Undergraduate studentsYou have already been billed for your $160 Graduation Fee. This was included in your undergraduate spring tuition bill.

Part Time Undergraduates and Graduate Students (including second degree Nursing students & excluding seniors who went part-time during their last semester at Fairfield) You must submit your $160 Graduaation Fee online immediatly after applying to graduate. Please use your correct link below based on your school:

Please note: The payment portal only accepts credit cards. If you cannot pay by credit card, you must submit a check for $160 to the Registrar's Office within 24 hours. Your graduation application will not be processed until the graduation fee is paid.

The College Senior Survey is an exit survey for graduating seniors that focuses on a broad range of college outcomes, post-college goals and plans. 

An email will be sent to you with completion instructions. This needs to be completed before picking up your cap & gown. Paper versions, if preferred, will be available to complete at cap and gown pick up.

The First Destination Survey focuses on your plans after graduation. This needs to be completed before picking up your graduation tickets. An email will be sent to you with completion instructions.

Complete Direct Loan Exit Counseling

Are you graduating with federal student loans? If so, you will be required to complete Loan Exit Counseling specific to your loan type at https://studentloans.gov. This process will review your loan history, rights and responsibilities as a borrower, and detail loan repayment information. 

The Exit Counseling should take you about 15 minutes to complete, and will give you very important information about your loan repayment options. You will need your Federal Student Aid Identification (FSA ID) information to login.

If you have any questions you can contact finaid@fairfield.edu with your full name and ID #.

Complete Federal Perkins/Nursing Loan Exit Counseling

If you have a Federal Perkins or Nursing loan, you will receive an email in Mid-March 2018 from UNISA Customer Service, the University’s loan servicer, with instructions to complete the Exit Counseling.

A hold is placed on your diploma’s release and will be removed upon completion.

The 2018 Fairfield Manor Yearbook is the only permanent historical record of the 2017-2018 academic year at Fairfield University. This award-winning book includes thousands of photos as well as comprehensive sections on academia, residential and student life. The senior section will contain portraits of the graduating class, plus Commencement.  Yearbooks will be mailed out in December 2018.

If you already took your Senior Portraits for the Yearbook, the session price included a copy of the Yearbook. You do not need to pay anything further.

If you did not purchase phots and would still like to purchase a copy of the Yearbook, plesae make a $106 check payable to: 2018 Manor and mail to Box A, Fairfield University, Fairfield CT 06824-5195.

Senior Week is a weeklong program that offers the graduating class opportunities to strengthen friendships, reflect on their years together at Fairfield, and celebrate their accomplishments as they prepare for the future.

The year's Senior Week will consist of nine (9) different events taking place both on and off campus from Sunday, May 13 - Sunday, May 20, 2018. Tickets are required for all events.

It is important to repay your loans and stay current on payments, even if your financial situation becomes difficult over the repayment terms.

If you are unable to make a payment at any time, contact your lender immediately! Read more about deferment or forbearance options that may help to reduce or postpone payments during challenging financial times.

Are you planning on going to graduate school? That's great! Did you know you have the option to defer your loan payments while you are enrolled in graduate school?

Some schools have enrollment requirements of at least six credits, so be sure to double check with your desired school.

In order to defer your undergraduate loan payments, you must contact all of your lenders (federal and alternative) for an In-School Deferment Form. Both you and your graduate school must complete the form prior to sending it to each lender.
