Men's Club Soccer has concluded another competitive and successful academic year as part of the Department of Recreation at Fairfield. Within just a few short years, the club has demonstrated effective self management and, as a result, continues to thrive.
The Stags completed their fourth season in the New England Collegiate Club Soccer League. The NECCSL includes (up to) 16 men's soccer clubs in two divisions from universities throughout the region.
Fairfield is in the NECCSL South Division. Currently, South Division members include clubs from Western New England University, WPI, The University of Connecticut, Trinity College, Wesleyan University, and Yale University.
The fall schedule can also include the prestigious NIRSA Region One Tournament staged in the Philadelphia area. This is a two-day soccer event with clubs from the entire northeast and middle Atlantic regions in attendance.
The club does remain active during each spring semester. Their elected officers plan to schedule home and away contests with area schools to maintain an active membership. However, these games are played independently of any league format or schedule.
With strong student leadership in place, the future looks bright for Men's Club Soccer at Fairfield, as yet another tradition continues.
