Program Overview

The Islamic World Studies minor engages students in an interdisciplinary study of the societies, cultures, religious traditions, politics, and histories of the Islamic World.

There are more than 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide and they are represented on every inhabited continent. The Islamic World Studies minor offers classes in disciplines across the humanities and social sciences, as well as courses in the Arabic language.

The minor aims to equip students to be informed and critical global citizens with a broad cultural competency regarding the significance of Islam and Muslims in the world today. We invite you to join us in exploring the places, peoples, and cultures of the Islamic World.
