Program Overview

Fairfield University offers students the opportunity to study marketing in the contexts of a broad liberal education and a dynamic and flexible business curriculum. Few other careers than marketing can offer a combination of so many different disciplines from psychology and sociology to art to statistics and analytics, all packaged together into one role.

Marketing students develop the skills to determine the wants and needs of consumers, as well as to manage marketing activities, such as creating products and services to satisfy consumer demands, and delivering these products and services, pricing them right, making them available at times and places that meet customers’ needs, and communicating information about these products and services to prospective buyers.

Fairfield’s close proximity to a thriving business community provides exceptional opportunities for marketing internships and introductions to the business world. Our graduates find jobs in a variety of industries, such as technology, fashion, media, sports and entertainment, marketing research, and many others. The roles of recent marketing graduates include: digital and social media specialists, SEO/SEM coordinator, media and event planner, market research analyst, sales development representative and campaign specialist.

As a graduate, you will have a well-rounded view of consumer and organizational needs and an understanding of the applications of marketing research and communication techniques.
