Internships

The vibrant business community in the tri-state area offers many exciting opportunities for you to work as an intern during the academic year or during the summer. There are more than 2,000 companies in Fairfield County, and nearly 150 Fortune 500 Companies have headquarters here. In addition, the proximity of Fairfield University to New York City and Boston provides many internship opportunities in business analytics especially in the areas of finance, accounting, marketing, and insurance.

In addition to helping you reinforce knowledge learned in the classroom, an internship can be a great resume builder, as many employers value past work experience. The opportunity to "test-drive" a possible career choice is just one of the many advantages of doing an internship. Student interns are supervised by a faculty member, an on-site mentor, and have assistance from the Dolan Career Development Center. Students can earn three to six credits through internships. 92% of Dolan graduating seniors completed at least one internship and the average number of internships per student is 2.3; 75% of these internships were paid (class of 2019).
