Campus Career Center requires that you log on to use its search engine, but it has interesting articles and information that you can read without logging on. The search engine uses specific countries, rather than a general "international" heading. Has internship listings as well, but the majority of positions are within the U.S.

Hoover's Online: Click "UK A-Z List" to find employers in the U.K. in various industries, click "Country" to find information in other countries. Best for students who already know the companies that they would like to work for.

International This is a good website with valuable information and listings for both jobs and internships. It has a wide list of opportunities many in the IT and marketing departments. If you have graduated and are looking for a quick list of possible opportunities this may be the place to start.

The Riley Guide to International Job Opportunities provides a collection of helpful country and region specific links. No information about the countries or traveling; only multiple links. has links to hundreds of job listings, organized by country and region. There are also many links on living abroad, along with information about specific countries and regions.

ESLCAFE has job listings for teaching English abroad. Also has a journal of job experiences from several different countries, and forums for discussion. At the bottom, check "Job Links" for hundreds of job links organized by country.

Global Jobs has thousands of global organizations participate in the Global Jobs page including NGOs, international nonprofit and relief organizations, think tanks, and policy organizers. With over 100,000 monthly visitors, many international organizations now use Global Jobs as their only HR source.

Electronic Embassy is a good place to start before you go abroad. It has a large list of recommendations for Americans as well as specific information pertaining to country-specific visas. It does not have job listings. has a consortium of graduate school programs from all over the world that prepare students in international affairs.

Law School Admission Council (LSAC) is a nonprofit corporation of 200 law schools in the U.S. and Canada. LSAC is best known for administering the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). Not particularly helpful for career decision making, but a necessary tool once you've made up your mind.

The Martindale-Hubbel Legal Network is powered by a database of more than one million lawyers and firms in 160 countries. Also offers career information for future legal professionals, including resume and interview tips, compensation surveys, and an online job database.

American Society of Newspaper Editors has tips on finding a job or internship, with a list of paid and non-paid internships. It also has information about small papers.


US Museum Directory is a comprehensive network of museum information. You can search for museums by name, state, or type. A feature called Top Sites lists "the best" with direct links. The "What's New?" feature is interesting albeit outdated (2002).

HireCulture: The Massachusetts Cultural Council sponsors this site, which provides a free searchable database of cultural employment opportunities in Massachusetts.

American Association of Museums is a comprehensive site with a basic tutorial on careers in museums - explaining what's involved, the types of jobs, how to prepare, professional programs, and more.

Globalmuseum:This international museum webzine offers a global perspective on museum news and as well as job listings from entry-level and fellowships to curators and senior executive level.

Museum Employment Resource Center: Access positions listed by U.S. Museums and other cultural resource institutions. Two other features are particularly helpful: listing of museum studies programs and a great, truly comprehensive set of links to museums, national parks, as well as historic and architectural preservation sites. The links list hasn't been updated since 2001 but most of it seem to be working.

Nonprofit & NGO

Their bi-weekly newsletter - Monday Developments - gives great background information on international humanitarian efforts. It does a good for job interview prep! Good Works is a national directory of social change organizations and is the first directory to present alternatives to traditional corporate employment.
