Noncredit Professional Courses & Certificates

Expert faculty design and teach our noncredit professional certificates to provide students with in-depth knowledge, relevant skills, and a credential to help them prepare for a professional exam, pursue a new career, or advance in their current job. Upon successful completion of their courses, students are awarded a Fairfield professional certificate and CEU transcript.

Community Resiliency Model®: Teacher Training Certification

The Community Resiliency Model® (CRM) Teacher Training Certification Course trains community members to not only help themselves, but to help others within their wider social network. First responders, law enforcement, fire, veterans, nurses, physicians, clergy, therapists, social workers, case managers, peer counselors and students are welcome to apply.

Nursing: Integrative Psychotherapy Trauma

The nine-month certificate program for licensed mental health providers integrates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy with a somatic therapy, the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM). The program will provide advanced psychotherapy skills for working with those with complex trauma and dissociation.

Enrollment & Payment Process

Returning Students
If you are a returning student, please go directly to my.fairfield.edu and login using your Net ID user name and password. On the my.fairfield homepage, you will receive login guidance or assistance in claiming your ID and creating a password if it has expired or you have forgotten it.

New Students
If you have never before taken a course at Fairfield (as an undergraduate, graduate, summer, or part-time student or for any certificate classes), please follow these online registration steps:

  • Step 1: Complete and submit the New User Registration Form online. Within one hour of submitting this form, you will receive an email with instructions to claim your NetID and set up your access to my.fairfield.edu – the official student portal for Fairfield University.
  • Step 2: Claim your NetID Account at fairfield.edu/netid. Click the “Claim Account” link at the bottom of the page and then enter the required information to activate your account.
  • Step 3: Visit my.fairfield.edu to register and pay for classes. Once you click the STUDENT tab, there is a REGISTER NOW button on the left side. At the end of registration, you will be asked to select your payment option. For all future course registrations at Fairfield, you will go directly to my.fairfield.edu to register for classes so please remember your username and password.

Requirements & Policies

  • An official certificate is available upon successful completion of all courses listed for a certificate. Grade requirements differ by program.
  • The name printed on the certificate will match the name on the student’s Fairfield CEU transcript.
  • Regular class attendance and participation is required in all courses.
  • Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be assigned to each course and appear on your Fairfield University CEU transcript.
  • Only approved noncredit courses completed at Fairfield apply to a Fairfield certificate. No transfer coursework (whether credit or noncredit) or waiver of the total number of courses for a certificate is permitted.
  • Certificate students must follow all Fairfield University student conduct and integrity policies and are subject to disciplinary action for any infractions.
  • Completion of a noncredit certificate does not guarantee admission into any other Fairfield program. Noncredit courses are not transferable into credit-bearing programs.
  • Students have up to three years to complete a certificate from initial date of registration, unless otherwise noted. Please note: Courses and certificate requirements are subject to change based upon industry changes and demand; therefore, we cannot guarantee identical offerings every year.
