The Student Leadership Conference is an exciting time for student leaders to attain the knowledge, skills, and resources to be effective change agents for the upcoming year, while cultivating a sense of community among the many different groups and positions represented. This year's theme is Unity of the Heart and Mind, one of our core Jesuit values.

“Our minds must be challenged to think critically and investigate thoroughly, but our hearts must also be challenged – not simply by concepts, but through the lived experience which awakens the understanding and opens the heart.” Peter Hans Kolvenbach, S.J.

“Unity of heart and mind requires reflection and relates to education for social justice, since a person cannot be whole if most of the world is broken.” Andrew Thon, S.J., 2013

“Discernment and good decision-making require honest and active attention not only to the rational (i.e., pros and cons), but also to the realm on one’s feelings, emotions, desires, which Ignatius called movements of the soul.” Andrew Thon, S.J., 2013

Who Should Attend

The conference welcomes all student leaders and aspiring student leaders. If you are looking to strengthen your leadership skills and abilities, the conference is a great step to develop these skills. Let us help you discover what your leadership journey will be at Fairfield.

Over 280 student leaders attended last year’s Student Leadership Conference.
