4 Weekend Hacks for a Fun and Safe Semester

4 Weekend Hacks for a Fun and Safe Semester

We’re finally back together in Stag Country. While we still encourage our students to have fun and create lasting memories this semester, we expect that Stags both on and off campus will do their part to keep our community as safe as possible. Following the guidelines and protocols in place not only guarantee the safety of those around us, but also ensure that we’re able to stay here together for the entire semester.

So what are we saying? In short: wear your mask, hang out in groups of 10 or less, and always remain socially distanced from your peers. If you aren’t living at the beach this semester, don’t make plans to spend your Friday or Saturday night there.

We realize these rules may be new, but that doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice the fun camaraderie that makes Stag Country special. In addition to the plethora of Fairfield at Night events, here are just a few more ideas to get your weekend kickstarted.

1.  Get Active

The RecPlex is open and the spaces within have been modified so that students, faculty, and staff feel safe throughout their entire experience. All members must have a Stag Card and face covering at all times. Have any specific questions before starting your workout? Reach out to recreation@fairfield.edu.

2.  Spend Time Outdoors

Whether you go for a run with a friend or have a picnic in the quad there are numerous areas on-campus to take in the beautiful weather this semester has to offer.

Living at the beach this year? Grab your roommates for a pizza night in the sand this upcoming weekend. Play games, relax, and don’t forget to snap a pic of the sunset!

Remember, your group can’t exceed 10 people, even when you’re outdoors.

3.  Get Cozy

Don’t be afraid to cozy up in your favorite loungewear with a movie every now and then. Pick a theme and gather your friends’ favorite snacks and beverages from the Fairfield University Bookstore. Add in some movie themed games of your choice and you have an easy, fun night in!

4.  Try a Restaurant in Town

Fairfield is home to some of the best restaurants anywhere — we’re not biased! Whether it’s pizza, tacos, burgers, salads, or sushi you’re craving, there’s something for everyone in downtown Fairfield. Be sure to leave room for dessert!

Let’s face it: In our tight-knit community, you don’t want to be known as the guy or girl that gets the whole school sent home for the semester. So please, follow the rules, make good decisions, and help us keep our community safe from the spread of Covid-19.
