Field Hockey Hosts Friends Celebration

Following a non-conference meeting with Providence College, Friends of Fairfield University Field Hockey honored the 2015 MAAC Champions with a championship ring ceremony. The event, which included over 100 guests, also honored the members of the 2001 Patriot League championship team that returned to campus with their families on October 2.

"It was an amazing day having both the 2001 and 2015 teams together to celebrate their championship seasons” shared Head Coach Jackie Kane ’87. “Both of these teams hold a very special place in my heart. Many thanks to everyone who has supported our field hockey family.”

The event kicked off with greetings from Coach Kane, who began her 25th season with the Fairfield University field hockey program. She has served as the team's head coach since the 1995 campaign after playing four seasons with the Stags from 1983-86.

Following an awards ceremony for the 2001 Patriot Championship team, Coach Kane and University President Rev. Jeffrey P. von Arx, S.J., presented the 2015 MAAC Champions with their rings.
