FAIRFIELD, Conn. (March 14, 2018) -- Rick Riordan's novel The Lightning Thief has taken millions of children and young adults along on Percy Jackson's adventures to save Mount Olympus. In 2010, they experienced Percy's tale on the big screen with the release of the film adaptation of the book. Now, on April 15, see renowned children's theatre company TheatreworksUSA deliver a musical performance of The Lightning Thief that's action packed and full of fun.
Percy Jackson is a boarding school kid who's been having some strange run-ins with mythological monsters… and now, some of the Greek gods are suspicious that Percy may have stolen Zeus' master lightning bolt. Percy must go on a quest to find Zeus' most important possession and return it to him in order to bring peace to Mount Olympus. He has ten days to succeed, during which he will come face to face with riddles, villainous creatures, and epic battles.

The original version of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical was brought to New York by TheatreworksUSA in 2014, and later brought back for a limited run in 2017. TheatreworksUSA has been providing professional theatre for family audiences since 1961. Their mission is to not only to put on quality performances, but also to present theatre to disadvantaged youth and under-served communities. This family fun event will be followed by refreshments for all to enjoy in the lobby after the performance. This performance is sponsored by The Westport Inn and WSHU.
