FAIRFIELD, Conn. (September 22, 2017) —Fairfield University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts launches its 27th season in an unprecedented style, heralding a bold, new lineup of performances. Be there for the ultimate immersive arts experience in Fairfield County this year. On two nights only, October 13 and 14, the Quick will be turned UPSIDE DOWN & INSIDE OUT for an experiential party wrapped around two outstanding performances from acclaimed, international performers.

From the moment you arrive, see the Quick from a totally new perspective as the entire theater is transformed. Find your way to the Wien Experimental Theatre for a dance performance of Frédérick Gravel’s Tout Se Pète La Gueule, Ché rie - All Hell is Breaking Loose, Honey. Merging rock music, performance art, and dance, Gravel’s work is emotionally gripping and hard hitting.

Active in the Montreal scene for over 10 years, Gravel is known for pushing the boundaries of dance choreography and turning it on its head. “Gravel’s work dances the fine line between rock concert, trailer park party, and dance performance. He certainly likes to push the boundaries of what dance can be – taking pleasure in obliterating stereotypes.” The Ottawa Citizen.

Between performances, steal behind the scenes to the Quick’s Set Shop and “inside” party space for sumptuous treats and libations. Your debut on the Quick stage follows as you dance the night away to bewitchingly soulful vocals performed by Betty Bonafassi. Currently one of Canada’s great voices, Bonifassi exudes a powerful personal magnetism. Her latest project is an ambitious album paying tribute to African-American and Black prisoners’ songs from the 1920s, collected by ethno-musicologist Alan Lomax in the Southern United States. The power of her voice highlights these chants as accentuated by her band’s musical approach, which brings a raw, gritty, and truthful sound to the stage.

You don’t want to miss this! Only 100 tickets are available each night. Contact the Quick Box Office for tickets at 203-254-4010 or boxoffice@quickcenter.com . UPSIDE DOWN INSIDE OUT is sponsored by Sensorial Productions, TVEyes, Abbey Tent & Party Rentals, The Circle Inn, The Hi-Ho, and WPKN.
