Fairfield’s Egan School of Nursing & Health Studies to host Trauma and Resilience Community Workshop

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (March 3, 2017) — Fairfield University’s Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies will host a Community Resilience Model workshop on Saturday, April 1. The event will be held in the DiMenna-Nyselius Library at Fairfield University from 9:30 a.m. – 5:O0 p.m. The cost of the workshop is $100 and $25 for Fairfield University students and a box lunch is included.

Trauma Resource Institute: Community Resilience Model (CRM) Skills Training is a full-day workshop designed specifically for people who care for those who have suffered trauma. Those invited include first responders, police, fire, nurses, veterans, therapists, justice system and healthcare professionals. This workshop offers participants a one-day introductory workshop on how to build resilience.

Presented by Elaine Miller-Karas, LCSW, author of Building Resilience to Trauma and executive director of the Trauma Resource Institute , the workshop will educate participants on key concepts and six-wellness skills, through a combination of lecture, discussion and skills practice, working in small groups.

At the end of the training, participants will be able to identify:

All programs are on campus in Fairfield, CT. The George Link Foundation has provided funding for those who provide care to veterans.
