The National Theatre’s Live Screening of Salomé Comes to the Quick Center

The story has been told before, but never like this. This charged retelling turns the infamous biblical tale on its head, placing the girl we call Salomé, a girl left for dead, at the center of a revolution — screening live at the Quick Center on September 13.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (August 24, 2017) —Fairfield University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts presents the exciting new broadcast of Salomé from National Theatre in London on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

An occupied desert nation. A radical from the wilderness on hunger strike. A girl whose mysterious dance will change the course of the world. Salomé is a must-see. Internationally acclaimed theatre director Yaël Farber (Les Blancs) draws on multiple accounts to create her urgent, hypnotic production on the stage of the National Theatre. Audiences will note the visually compelling production, with staging that often looks like a ‘living painting’ as well as the music from acclaimed singers Yasmin Levy and Lubana Al Quntar, who are integrated into the story.
