Dolan School Hosts Business Breakfast: The Only Constant is Change, Sept. 13

On Tuesday, September 13 from 7:30-9:00 a.m. , Fairfield University’s Dolan School of Business will be hosting a Business Breakfast— The Only Constant is Change — Learn how to lead change in your organization . Management studies expert and Dolan School Adjunct Professor Lisa Stafford will lead the discussion. The event is free and open to the public.

Stafford will be joined by Fairfield University Management Professor, Dr. Catherine Giapponi, Dean of the Dolan School and Professor of Management, Dr. Donald Gibson, and global HR executive, Susan Domotor, Principal of the Organization Excellence Group.

As an experienced human resources leader Lisa Stafford has over 30 years of work experience in the banking, insurance, healthcare, and academic industries, providing leadership coaching to top executives on human capital strategy and change management. At Aetna for over 20 years, Lisa worked closely with the direct reports to the CEO, and their staff organizations, developing and implementing plans for cultural transformation. As an adjunct professor at the Dolan School, Stafford teaches human resource courses and facilitates internships and networking opportunities for students.

Donald Gibson, PhD, dean and professor of management at the Dolan School of Business, teaches Leadership and Teams, Managing People for Competitive Advantage, Managing Human Resources, and Introduction to Management to undergraduate and graduate (MBA) students. He has served as program chair and executive director of the International Association for Conflict Management, a professional organization whose mission is to understand and improve conflict management in family, organizational, societal, and international settings. In 2011, he won the prestigious Robert E. Wall Faculty Award to advance his research, a project entitled, "The Sound and the Fury: Understanding Anger in the Workplace."

Associate Professor of Management, Catherine Giapponi, PhD, teaches the business strategy capstone course at both the undergraduate and MBA levels and teaches Managing Non-Profit Organizations and Contemporary Topics in Management, in addition to consulting and pro bono work in strategy. Dr. Giapponi has engaged students from both the undergraduate and MBA programs at the Dolan School of Business in service learning strategic planning projects for nonprofit organizations.

Susan Domotor has extensive global organization change experience as a former organization effectiveness executive and marketing leader for 25 years at Fortune 200 companies like Pfizer and Colgate. She has led a wide range of change initiatives at the group and organization levels working hand-in-hand with leaders and employees.  Currently her firm, the Organization Effectiveness Group (OEG), provides organization change and culture work with leading global and domestic firms.
