Rosanne Cash, Grammy-award winning singer and songwriter, comes to Fairfield on December 7

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (November 7, 2016) — One of the country’s pre-eminent singer/songwriters, Rosanne Cash is coming to Fairfield University’s Quick Center for the Arts to perform original works alongside her husband and collaborator, John Leventhal. At the Quick, which is one of five final tour stops this year, the duo will share Cash’s rich collection of original songs that connect and re-connect her to the American South during an intimate evening celebrating the role of storyteller.

In her 38 years of songwriting and performing, Rosanne Cash has become an icon in her own right. She won her first Grammy in 1985 for her single, “I Don’t Know Why You Don’t Want Me” and has since released 15 albums.   In 2015 Rosanne kept pace with Beyonce, Beck and Pharell when she brought home three of the coveted golden gramophones for her latest album, The River and the Thread .  Cash has earned four Grammy wins in total, 12 Grammy nominations, two gold records, written several hit singles, a best-selling memoir titled Composed , essays featured in The New York Times and Rolling Stone and a collection of edited short stories.

Rosanne’s music pulls on many genres including country, rock, blues, folk, Americana and pop. On her music’s influence, Cash told Rolling Stone magazine, “I can't imagine that people wouldn't understand how important American Roots music is to our national self-identity, in the same way Celtic music is for the Irish and Scots. It's in our core DNA."
