Fairfield University to Host Same-Day Registration and Voting on Election Day, November 8

FAIRFIELD, Conn., (November 2, 2016) — Fairfield University and the Town of Fairfield have announced that the University will host same-day voter registration and voting on Election Day, November 8, 2016.

All Fairfield residents who plan on registering then voting on the same day can go to the University’s Barone Campus Center starting at 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. The campus is located at 1073 North Benson Road, Fairfield, Conn.

Those registering on Election Day must be a U.S. Citizen age 18 or older; reside at an address in Fairfield; must not have voted in the November 8 th , 2016 election from a different address; and must not have been convicted of a disenfranchising felony (or must have completed incarceration and parole).

“University students make up more than three-quarters of the adults in Fairfield who aren't registered to vote,” said Matt Waggner, Town Of Fairfield Registrar Of Voters. “And with so many on-campus residents not having a vehicle, bringing registration services to the campus seems like a natural fit.”
