FAIRFIELD, Conn. (March 8, 2016) — eighth blackbird, winners of the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance, will be performing their work, Hand Eye , at Fairfield University’s Quick Center for the Arts Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $40, $35, $30 and $5 for Fairfield University students. For tickets, visit http://www.quickcenter.com or call the box office at 203-254-4010 or toll free at 1-877-ARTS-396.

Now with four Grammy awards , eighth blackbird promises – and delivers – provocative and unforgettable performances. The Chicago-based sextet of “super-musicians” ( LA Times ) blends the finesse of a string quartet, the energy of a rock band, and the audacity of a storefront theater company.

Bringing together eighth blackbird with the award-winning composers of the Sleeping Giant collective and the video artist CandyStations, the evening-length work Hand Eye will transport you from a soul-studded jam session, to a high-velocity adventure-ride, a shimmering yet blinding landscape, and the flickering and pulsing of ink on paper.

Sponsored by The Westport Inn, WPKN, and Moffly Media.
