Fairfield University Hosts Campus Public Safety Officer Training July 23-29

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (June 28, 2016)—The Fairfield University Department of Public Safety (DPS) is presenting its seventh annual Campus Public Safety Officer Training Academy to be held Saturday, July 23 through Friday July 29, 2016, on the Fairfield University campus. Enrollment is limited to high school or university security, police or public safety officers.

The seven day classroom and practical instruction course is provided by trained professionals certified in their areas of instruction. The curriculum has been carefully selected to reflect the ever-changing needs and demands placed upon security and public safety departments today. The Training Academy will conclude with keynote speaker, world-renowned veteran law enforcement officer and trainer, Lt. Kevin Dillon (Ret).

“In order to provide a safe and secure campus environment today, public safety officers need to be properly equipped with the knowledge necessary to carry out their duties and responsibilities,” said Fairfield’s Associate Director of Public Safety, Frank Ficko.

This program attracts participants primarily from the New York tri-state area, and as far south as Delaware, Maryland, and Georgia.  Class sizes typically range from 15 to 35 attendees.

Campus Public Safety Officer Training Academy tuition is $895. Price includes meals and housing. Non-housing rates are available. Students will be provided housing in air-conditioned apartments including linens, meals, instructional materials, and notebooks. Non-housing rates are also available.
