FAIR FIELD, Conn. (March 23, 2016)  — The Met: Live in HD season continues on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 1 & 6 p.m. with Gaetano Donizetti’s opera Roberto Devereux at the Quick Center.

In this climactic opera — the final of the Tudor Trilogy — Queen Elizabeth I (Sondra Radvanovsky) is forced to sign the death warrant of the nobleman she loves, Roberto Devereux. Sir David McVicar, who directed the Met premieres of Anna Bolena and Maria Stuarda , returns to stage the final installment in the series.

Over the course of the season, acclaimed bel canto soprano Sondra Radvanovsky sings Elizabeth I in Roberto Devereux, as well as the title roles in Anna Bolena and Maria Stuarda , a feat performed by Beverly Sills at New York City Opera in the 1970s and not since repeated in New York. Maurizio Benini conducts the first-ever Met performances of this work.

Tickets are $25, $20 for seniors, and $5 for children and students. For tickets, visit http://www.quickcenter.com or call the box office at 203-254-4010 or toll free at 1-877-ARTS-396.
