An evening for the arts with CBS’s Charlie Rose

A conversation with the Emmy Award-winning journalist will launch the 25th anniversary season of Fairfield University’s Quick Center for the Arts with dinner, cocktails and dancing.

The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts celebrates the launch of their 25th anniversary and the kick-off of the new Open VISIONS Forum season with a benefit evening of dinner, cocktails and dancing featuring a conversation with Emmy Award-winning journalist, Charlie Rose on Saturday, September 19, 2015.

Proceeds from the 2015 celebration benefit the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts Education and Outreach Fund, which enables youth and families to engage in Quick Center performances, classes and workshops.

“The Quick Center is delighted to host Charlie Rose to kick off our 25th year season,” said Peter Van Heerden, executive director of the Quick Center.” The evening promises to be a glamorous affair to honor the arts, as we invite community and patrons to join us in celebrating the rich history of the Quick Center.”

Faith Middleton, known for her work with Connecticut Public Radio and as a frequent contributor to National Public Radio, author and raconteur, will serve as special guest interviewer.

"Whether we're just opening our sleepy eyes along with CBS This Morning or switching off the light stand lights with his animated PBS Charlie Rose interviews, nobody offers more credible substance and smart questioning as the earth spins every 24 hours than our guest," noted Dr. Philip Eliasoph, founder and moderator of the Open VISIONS Forum. "How often has each of us watched him spar, cajole and press a dodging world leader, celebrated entertainer, or best-selling author, landing just the right punch in his animated tête-à-têtes? It's going to be a memorable evening as Faith Middleton and I get to interview America's greatest interviewer live on the Quick Center stage!"

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a private dinner reception with Charlie Rose at the Artisan at Delamar Southport and continues to 25th Anniversary Celebration Cocktails with a toast to Rose at 6:30 p.m. at the Quick Center Walsh Art Gallery. At 8 p.m. Faith Middleton and Philip Eliasoph will be joined on stage by Rose for an in-depth conversation. Following, there will be an after-party featuring DJ Reborn and an evening of dancing.
