Fairfield University ranked in top 2% of peer group for 24th consecutive year by U.S. News and World Report

Fairfield ranks at the top of all Connecticut institutions included in the reports' tier one north category

Image:Fairfield University entrance For the 24th consecutive year Fairfield University (#fairfieldu) has ranked in the top 2% of its peer group. The new polling done by U.S. News and World Report found Fairfield to be the third highest ranked University in the North Region.

The University was also acclaimed for its "Strong Commitment to Undergraduate Teaching," high freshman retention rate (88%) and six-year graduation rate (82%).

"Fairfield has long been highly ranked among its peer institutions, indicative of our overall academic excellence and commitment to an outstanding educational experience for our students", said Lynn Babington, senior vice president for academic affairs at Fairfield. "We are particularly pleased to be recognized again this year for a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, which is reflective of our dedicated faculty of teaching scholars, integrated and innovative programs, and wealth of study abroad and internship opportunities."

This ranking is the latest in a series of achievements and accolades from a host of other national ranking organizations. Last month, Money magazine ranked Fairfield in the top 150 (out of 665) for best value based on quality of education, affordability and outcomes. Among all the ranked schools in Connecticut (including Yale, Connecticut College and Trinity), Fairfield students achieved the highest average annual salaries for graduates after five years.
