Fairfield University professor explains how the communication skills of top police personnel can work for you

Professor Diana Hulse Who: Diana Hulse, Ed.D., professor of counselor education, Graduate School of Education andAllied Professions (GSEAP), Fairfield University, along with retired Police Captain Peter J. McDermott, authors of the book "Policing in the 21st Century: TALK trumps technology."Capt. McDermott served the West Hartford and Windsor police departments and was a Connecticut Police Academy instructor.

Details: Dr. Hulse and Captain McDermott will explore the broad-reaching potential of their book, which presents methods and resources for training and evaluating interpersonal skills, skills for giving feedback, and skills for leadership tasks in police work. The authors contend that these strategies are applicable for civilians dealing with family members, friends and co-workers.
