Fairfield University , Fairfield, Conn., has been recognized as one ofthe " 35 Best College Values in New England, 2014 " by Kiplinger's Personal Finance. Fairfield University joins a distinguished group of public, private and liberal arts colleges and universities that includes Harvard, Yale, MIT, Brown, Dartmouth, Tufts, Wellesley, Wesleyan, Northeastern and UCONN. It is one of three Jesuit institutions in the group, the others being Boston College and Holy Cross.

Kiplinger's "Top Private College Values" rankings are based on academic quality , accounting for 56.25 percent, and affordability , which factors for 43.75 percent of the measurement. It incorporates five subdivided categories: competitiveness, graduation rates, academic support, cost and financial aid and student indebtedness.

These rankings are part of Kiplinger's new College Finder tool, which complements Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine's annual "Best Values in Public Colleges"and "Best Values in Private Colleges" and also reveals the best college values in each region, best values among different-sized campuses, and best values under $30,000 a year.
