Image: Draw On Fairfield University's Bellarmine Museum of Art presents Draw On! The Cast Party from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Presented in partnership with The Connecticut Art Trail , the Bellarmine Museum of Art's Draw On! is free and open to the public and focuses on participants drawing - in a time honored tradition - the human figure from plaster casts of important Greek and Roman sculpture. No experience is necessary and all materials will be supplied. Dr. Katherine Schwab, Professor of Art History and Curator of the Bellarmine's Plaster Cast Collection, and Fairfield University Studio Art Professor Suzanne Chamlin will be on hand to give participants guidance and tips. Light refreshments will be served, courtesy of Whole Foods Market.

Draw On! is a statewide creative community festival which began in 2006 at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, CT. This year, for the first time, members of the 17-museum Connecticut Art Trail will host Draw On! -themed events, making this festival more accessible than ever. Draw On! features workshops, classes, demonstration and other activities offering self expression. Presented from early March to mid April, Draw On! offers creative fun for all ages. Each participating Connecticut Art Trail member will have an original interpretation of the Draw On! theme.

The Bellarmine Museum of Art is open Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on select Saturdays. Admission is free. The Bellarmine Museum of Art and the Walsh Art Gallery at Fairfield University are members of The Connecticut Art Trail , a nationally recognized partnership between seventeen world-class museums and historic sites, created to promote Connecticut's rich cultural assets as part of a travel experience. The Trail was launched in 1995 as the Connecticut Impressionist Art Trail, celebrating Connecticut's ten museums and historic sites that highlighted American Impressionism. In 2005, the member museums voted to expand its membership beyond Impressionism to include even more quality museums and historic sites, increasing the membership to seventeen today. This strategic initiative was accomplished in order to reach a broader audience and showcase the diversity of collections within the state. The Connecticut Art Trail also offers the Art Pass, granting visitors one-day access to each museum along the trail for a small fee.
